“In Æternum” is a power ballad, to which the band is no stranger. This track, however, has a more epic and melodic feel than the groups previous outings, utilizing synths, violins, cellos, and piano. It also features Denver female rock singer, Azura Onessa, making her debut appearance on a recording, alongside lead vocalist, Duel Shape.
“In Æternum” is the third song in what will be a four-part “Anamnesis” saga, following the previously-released tracks “Aegri Somnia” and “Anamnesis”. Its melancholic sound sets the mood of this chapter, where the main character has been searching for an answer to all of the nightmares which he had experienced in “Anamnesis”. Understanding that for him there is no way out of his living nightmare, he seeks out a priest for forgiveness of his thoughts of dying, believing that death is the only way he can again be together with the woman he once loved in his past life.
